Graduate Certificate Programs and M.A.T Programs

To provide students a rich educational experience, current and future teachers need practical options for growing their knowledge and skills. Our new streamlined model combines online or hybrid courses and focused clinical training to deliver an affordable, engaging academic experience. Under this model, students gain licensure in as few as three semesters.

The Graduate Certificate in Teaching leads to an initial professional educator’s license in North Carolina for candidates who already hold a bachelor’s degree.

Students who earn the Graduate Certificate may take a second set of courses to earn a Master of Arts in Teaching and the subject expertise and opportunities that comes with it.

“Every day, I get to inspire children. There isn't any amount of money or any other job that can reward you as much as being an educator. To work with a child and know that you helped them learn something they'll have for the rest of their life: you can't put a price on that.”  -Damien Hazel, 2016 Marvin Elementary School Teacher of the Year
